This course aims to reinforce students' foundational skills and knowledge, preparing them for a more advanced study of the Spanish language. Students will delve into intricate grammar structures, including subjunctive moods and complex sentence formations. Through diverse conversations, they will expand their vocabulary and practice writing various text types. Additionally, students will explore Spanish-speaking cultures with focused studies on historical events, literature, and societal issues. Weekly homework assignments will serve to reinforce and deepen their understanding, ensuring comprehensive mastery of the material. About the Teacher Mr. Skinner is an experienced educator with a strong background in international education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Drama and Theatre Arts, along with a postgraduate diploma in Leading Inclusive Education from Middlesex University. With 18 years of teaching experience, Ben has made significant contributions to various international schools and universities in Colombia. His teaching journey has encompassed primary and high school levels, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing academic progress at every stage. Mr. Skinner is proficient in both English and Spanish curricula, reflecting his dedication to bilingual education. Currently, he shares his expertise at the renowned Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia. Ms. Medel earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing from Biola University, where she was a featured poet for the annual poetry forum. Afterward, Ms. Medel taught English as a second language at the Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile. With a passion for education, Ms. Medel pursued a career in teaching, obtaining a single subject credential in English Language Arts and a Master of Education from National University. Over the past 12 years, she has been living in Colombia, where she has worked with bilingual students, delivering content in both English and Spanish. Ms. Medel has taught high school English grades 9–12 and AP English in California and at international bilingual schools in Cali, Colombia.
