This class may be the most important one of all for students, since the thesis-driven essay is the mainstay of both high school and college essays. Students will be given a variety of essay assignments and their essays will be discussed in class. The aim is what College Board calls “mastery of writing”.

This class may be taken multiple times, since the student will be progressing at his/her own pace.

You'll write 7 essays, all of which will be discussed in class, and 2 will be corrected and returned to you with comments.

Class size: 6-8 students

Class Time: One hour per week*

Class Dates: Eight weeks*

Teacher: Coach Cherie (BA in English and MA in Poetry with more than 20 years of teaching experiences)

Homework: Around 45 mins of homework time each week.
