This course is intended for students who write fairly well, but who make common mistakes in written English, such as not putting a comma between two independent clauses, occasionally pairing plural nouns with singular verbs (or vice versa), using a pronoun that has no referent, and so forth. Sessions are once a week for one hour periods using Zoom internet conferencing. Students should expect to have approximately one hour of homework per week. Students will be required to take a pretest during the first session of the course and to take a posttest during the last session of the course. The teacher will send both students and parents progress reports after the last session, and students will be asked to fill out a course evaluation form at that time, as well. The course will start at designated dates throughout the year. The teacher, Susan L. Phillips, M.A., has many years of experience as a teacher, tutor, writer, and editor.
